“The unreal is more powerful than the real, because nothing is as perfect as you can imagine it. because its only intangible ideas, concepts, beliefs, fantasies that last. stone crumbles. wood rots. people, well, they die. but things as fragile as a thought, a dream, a legend, they can go on and on.”

Two for the Road - 1967 - Trailer

MOVIE NIGHT

I just adore Audrey Hepburn! (who doesn't) but for some reason this is my most favorite of all her movies. Maybe it's the music, the young Albert Finney(so sexy)or just watching beautiful Audrey Hepburn. This movie really shows the ebb and flow of a marriage. It is a very beautiful piece. Very melancholy. This may be my most favorite movie ever. ( I said maybe. At this moment anyway)

Journal Page/Trust your feelings

Trust your feelings.  If things feel good then they are usually good. If things don't feel right most of the time they just are not right.   I look back at things and I think all along I felt that something just wasn't right but I got involved in something I just knew I should not get involved in. And found out it just was not the way to go. Or when I meet my husband I knew it was right the first time I meet him.  And I still know he will be with me forever.   Learn to trust how something makes you feel. You know what I am saying. Feel it in you gut.

We all took the Kelly Rae Flying Lessons ecourse and someone started the Facebook page and then Louise organized the get together in Hoboken. The funny thing about that is that before this was supposed to take place. I kept telling my husband I was moving to Hoboken.  Hmmmm.  What does that mean???
Anyway we had a lovely time. Everyone seemed to click right away.
What a perfect day!

In Hoboken looking over at NY, NY on the Hudson

The girls walking with our bags that Silvia made. Perfect gift with our new logo on it.

Thanks Louise for hooking us up.
Hopefully this will be the first of many hookups.

Getting Ready for Halloween and Day of the Dead!

I am getting ready for Halloween and Day of the Dead.
I did this skull awhile ago. I am painting some plastic pumpkins also.

Last year I saw Suzi Blu and Alisa Burke painting skulls. So I did my version of a painted skull for the Mexico holiday "Day of the Dead"If you ever want to take some on line classes these are the girls to take them from. I have never taken any Alisa Burke but I have heard great things about her. If you go on her blog Alisaburke.blogspot.com she is very generous with her art and she discusses a lot of recipes(which I don't cook)  and sewing (which I am still a little frightend)
And  Suzi Blu. Ahhhh I Love Suzi Blu. She is the funniest most entertaining of all my blogs that I follow. She is just herself which I love. She makes me laugh. Her website is suziblu.typepad.com. Or you can go on Youtube and watch her videos. She is just a funny little girl from NJ traveling around in her Gypsy Wagon(aka trailer).
 Love Suzi Blu.
If you are interested in taking any art classes there are so many people on the internet giving coarses. So many that I don't know them either. Just keep on searching you will find someone teaching the kind of art you are interested in. Everyone likes different art. What speaks to me might not necessarily speak to you. Just do what you feel.  If you really love art try it! Take a coarse. Just do it!!

Mosaic's

Not many people know I work at an insurance company during the day and I am an artist at night.  Well anyway I am usually in a hurry when I go in and out of the building but I finally realized that I was in a building with the most beautiful mosaic works. Isn't it funny how you take things for granted. These mosaic are from top of the ceiling to the floor. We have 5 floors and each one has one. I took pictures of them. The top floors came out great because the sun was shining threw but the lower floors not so good. You just can't see the beauty. The artists name is Lenoids Linauts from Mohnton PA.  I tried to google him but I could not find anything. I am assuming that he is an Amish or Mennonite. Because the name is definitely PA Dutch. If anyone out there knows anything about this man please let me know. Thanks. Check them out!

Gorgeous!
This is also a quilt that is hanging from a wall. Floor to Ceiling.

Very lucky person to be working at a beautiful building as this one.

A Raisin in the Sun (1961) 11/14

Movie Night

This is one of the great movies. I know I did one of Sidney's movies before but this one is one that has to be seen. The acting is fantastic. It is one of the first main stream all black cast movies. Quite a ground breaker.

They did a terrible remake of this with P Diddy of all people. No one can compare to Sidney. Order it on Netflix.

Just finished this Halloween picture. The background it made with napkins that I found when we were cleaning out my mother and fathers house when we moved my Dad in with us. I remember them they must have been I think from the late 60s or early 70s. It brings back a lot  of good memories.
Now the saying on it is so me because I would always rather have the treat! Me and treats go together.  More Halloween paintings coming. I love this time of year!!!!! So much fun.

Pasticcio Quartz

I AM SOOOOOO EXCITED!!!!!!!!!

It is official!  I knew it for awhile but I did not want to say anything to anyone. I wanted to see it with my own eyes.  I am in the Issue 10 of the Pasticcio Quartz!!!!! How exciting is that. I am so grateful to Angela Cartwright and Sarah Fishburn.
I had been an admirer of Pasticcio Quartz for awhile and I just thought I would submit some pieces and see what happened.   Feel the Fear and do it anyway!!!! So I did. The  same day Angela emailed me and said that she loved my stuff and that she would like to put one of my paintings in the art zine. Well I nearly hit the ceiling!!!!! I was so excited.  She had said she wanted to use my "Leaning on a Friend" piece because it reminded her of Sarah and her (Is that proper English????I told you I wasn't a writer) and that could I please send a photo in so many pixels. It was a very large piece so I could not scan I had to use a photograph.  Well I did not know a pixel from a hole in my head .  But I tried and tried So I kept on sending them and they just were not right. I just couldn't get it.  Angela was so patient and she said not to worry that she would use one of my other pieces.  She was soooo kind.  Well anyway I did figure it out.  It makes me cry in a very good way.

Thank you sooo much Angela and Sarah I will be forever grateful. You always had my respect but now you both have my heart!!

The Magnificent Ambersons 01

This was one of the best movies I have ever seen. I remember the first time I had ever seen this movie. It was late Sunday night and I had a really bad cold. I was contemplating whether I should take the next day off or suck it up and go to work. Well this movie came on and I saw that Orson Wells had directed it. And of coarse I love Citizen Kane so I thought this would be interesting. Well let me tell you. This was one of the best made movies I had ever seen. I stayed up and watch this because I could not go to bed because visually it was wonderful. So I did not make it to work. Stayed up half the night. But so worth it. I hope you get a chance to see this someday. Rent it. If you love old movies, you will love this one!

Plant the seed and grow

 Plant the seed and grow

Life is constant growth.
I know I want to learn and grow everyday. I will continue to grow until the day I die. There is so much we can learn. We just have to start. Don't miss the opportunities. Keep on growing. If you stop growing you cease to exist.

People are always complaining about getting older. I think it is a privilege to grow old and become wiser, some people don't get the chance. I love it! I don't have to worry about all that nonsense.  Who to impress, Is he looking, how do I  look, does my butt look to fat, Am I good enough, etc. You know what I mean.

KEEP GROWING

Imitation of Life

Movie Night!!!!

This is one of those wonderful saga's. You have to see this movie. My sister Jamie and I had a bet and of coarse I won. She said that it was Natalie Wood as the daughter. Sooooo wrong. She now owes me $10,000.00. I guess I will take that in installments. But seriously you have to see this movie. All the greats. Lana, Sandra Dee, John Gaven(oooo la la) Susan Kohner (not Natalie Wood), Juanita Moore. Great cast. Check it out!

When we were kids our big class trip was going to the Reading Museum. We would go in the bus and we would be so excited because we were going to see the mummy. Well on my birthday this year my sister Heidi and I went to the Museum.  If you are in the area it is a nice little museum to go to.

Anyway we went to see the mummy. And we saw that they had some forensic person come in and make a bust of what she would have looked like. So interesting. I am no longer scared of her. She looks so normal. And I guess I have grown up a little.

Isn't she beautiful!
She's not so scary anymore.

Me with the plastic animals(in the bag) I bought at the museum gift shop on our field trip. ( I told you I was Scout)

We are each responsible for our own experiences.
- Louise Hay

This is one of my favorite Louise Hay quotes. It is no secret that I am a huge fan of Louise Hay. I love her message.  I believe that we are responsible for our experiences and how we experience things. It all comes down to our chooses. How we react to something is a choose.  And with that a domino effect happens and we get what we created with that thought. It is all how you look at things. It is a choice. You can choose to be negative or you can be positive.  I choose positive. I am not saying that I have this thing in the bag. Everyday is a learning experience for me.  You have to change the record in your head.  Listen to how you talk to yourself.  Are you kind to yourself? Talk to yourself like you would talk to a friend.

Be kind to your self.

Love yourself.
