Circle Journal

If you have been following my blog you would know that I have been involved Circle Journal with a bunch of wonderful women that I met at Artfest.  My theme was Song Lyrics.  I wanted them to interpret a song that has touched them in some way.  Music is one of my most cherished pleasures.  I love all kinds.
What I am going to do is everyday show you one of the pages and hopefully find the music to accompany the piece.   I love them all they all show me a side of each one of these beautiful ladies.

The first page is the cover .

The song I chose was "Lazy Eye" by Hem.  It makes me weep every time I listen to it.  My mother had Alzheimer's.   It is called the "long goodbye".

This song makes me think of my mother.  And when she was sick I would look at her with my lazy eye.  And remember how she was before.  A tribute to my mother.

Sunday Sketches and My Last Circle Journal Piece

This is a sketch I did of my cat TJ (No longer with us). He would sit there and watch Nelly's goldfish. This is in honor of TJ. I love that cat.
(Come and joins us at Sunday Sketches hosted by Sophia)

This is my last circle journal page. This is for Nelly's journal.
I will be handing it over to her as soon as she gets back from Florida.
Circle is complete.
Her theme was  LIFE IS BETTER WHEN......

I love my Nelly Bell!

This circle journal was the first time I did anything like that.  It really made me stretch my creative brain so to speak.   I couldn't wait to get the next journal every month to see what the theme was and what everyone else had done. It was so exciting.  I will show everyone my journal. Page by page. My theme was Song Lyrics. I should start sometime next week with the first one.
I will be seeing some of the people that I did this with in April at Artfest. I can't wait to see there completed journals.
Thank you Shonna, Bev, Nancy, Barb, Linda, Deb, Jonna, Heidi, Nelly!! What a great experience!

In the hopes of reaching the moon men fail to see the flowers that blossom at their feet.

Albert Schweitzer

This is the perfect qoute of the day.   I have to learn to slow down and stop and see the flowers at my feet.  Believe that my dreams (of reaching the moon) will come true   Slow down. Do what I enjoy. And it will come.

Valentine for Steve

HOW DO I LOVE THEE ?

How do I love thee? Let me count the ways.

I love thee to the depth and breadth and height

My soul can reach, when feeling out of sight

For the ends of Being and ideal Grace.

I love thee to the level of everyday's

Most quiet need, by sun and candlelight.

I love thee freely, as men strive for Right;

I love thee purely, as they turn from Praise.

I love thee with the passion put to use

In my old griefs, and with my childhood's faith.

I love thee with a love I seemed to lose

With my lost saints,--I love thee with the breath,

Smiles, tears, of all my life!--and, if God choose,

I shall but love thee better after death.

Author: Elizabeth Barrett Browning (1770-1850)

Sunday Sketches, Unfinished Art and Working on the House

I Know I Know they are bad. But they are meant to be exercises. I am willing to show you bad art.  This is what keeps me warmed up. Right!
The top is someone that I admire. That love or hate her, you have to admit that she changed this world for the good.
The other is just an idea for a Wizard of Oz painting. I have to add the Lion. He may just be by himself because he is special. I have a thing for lions because I am a Leo you know!

Also I wanted to discussed unfinished art!! I have so many paintings started and never finished. I am working on one today that I started last Valentine's for my husband. But I never finished. (I will show you sometime this week) I always have 10 paintings going on at a time. So these are some that I am going to work on. The above I am going to add a bird and other good stuff.  The one below I don't know what I am going to do yet. It may be totally different then what I started it out as.

Other news Steve is removing the wall paper from the hall way in the upstairs. Steve is a contractor. It comes in pretty handy. But did you ever hear the saying "The shoemakers kids never have any shoes" (or something like that) Last thing he wants to do when he  comes home.  What a pain! But it has to be done.  Underneath it was a name and date of the person that put the wall paper up in 1961. Pretty cool.

Richard Ritter 1961
I think that is pretty cool. He wanted someone to know he was there. That he existed.
Love that!

I wish he was around now because that wallpaper held up pretty good for being 50 yrs old.   To good!  Poor Steve's arms!!!

Well see you later !!!!

My Life Is Full Of Colors

My life is full of colors.
I go from brightest of brights to darkest of dark.
Melancholy is taking over.
Darkness is here.
I don't know why.
My life is full of colors.
Tomorrow I will be bright again.
