Two Generations of Owls

Heather Lippincott Foust (I always forget to sign it)

My sister Heidi has been after me to do an Owl.
So I did.

I wanted to show you the two different styles of Owls from generation to generation. The one at the bottom is my Mothers owl. I have this hung in my living room because she always had it in her living room.  From time to time I will show you some of my Mother's work. She was a wonderful artist and she taught me so much.  We just had different styles and you can see by both the pictures. Hers was done in pastels. Mine (At the top as if you didn't know)  is done in Mixed Media acrylic paint , paper and ink and all that good stuff.

I love the way your owl turned out. I knew you would make it your own.
Like Nelly said, I love that you posted Mom's owl and put it out there for the world to see. She would be so proud of you and what you have accomplished in such a short time. Gosh I'm getting all teary.

Oh my gosh--you're mother was such a gifted artist and she most definitely passed her gift to you. I hope everyone clicked on your owl to see the wonderful details!

How interesting to see these two owls - both so successful in their own ways. I love how your owl's eyes are not typically what I would expect for an owl, but they still work beautifully.

Great to share this family history with us all. Little did your Mother know that her owl would be travelling the world!! Both adorable.

I saw a huge bird of prey today - no idea what it was.

Your owl is beautiful. I love her eyes. My Mom sent a picture to me of an owl that is visiting their backyard. I can't wait to see it in person (if I am lucky enough)

oooooo I love the comparison. They are both great in their own unique way.

I'm trying to get an art journal project off the ground and after poking around your posts some, I think you may be interested. I can extend the due date since I'm just now finding you!
If you have time and interest I would be honored to have you participate:
