RED IS MY FAVORITE COLOR

RED

Red is my favorite color. I have tried and tried to get away from red. But I can't do it! You know change it up. Not have red in my color scheme or a painting. But no matter what, I am always draw to red. I LOVE RED!!!!!!!

I have a very odd relationship with red. Like I don't like red cars or red houses or red walls. Just accents of red.

I want to eat RED. It is gorgeous!

I know weird. But true.

Soooooo when one of the people in my circle journal made her theme red I was excited.  I LOVE RED!

Art Supply Cabinet Makeover

My husband Steve is a contractor. He was working at a house and they told him he could have anything he wanted out of the house so he brought home this not so attractive brown boring cabinet. He asked if I wanted it for my art room. And I said sure I think I can do something with that. So this is what I came up with. All I know is it is better then it use to be. This is the progression of it. It was a slow process.

Lilies of the Field - Amen

I almost forgot movie night! I was having dinner with my girls. This is one of my favorite movies! This was the first time I saw Sidney Poiter. What a great man. This is the last scene. You got to see this one if you have never seen it. Its about a man who came an built a church for the nuns. They not only got a church built but they also learned some lessons of there own. Wonderful Movie.

Life is nothing without love.

I don't mean that in a man and women love. Although that is nice. I mean in just loving a child, the color red, birds, books, art, the circus, ponies, walking, rain, peaches ..... you know what I mean.  Anything.  Life is nothing without love. I hate to be such a Pollyanna, but I am. My mom should have named me Pollyanna. Because I will always be a Pollyanna. To all the Pollyanna's in the world. I LOVE YOU!

Remember your goals. Everyday do something little, dosen't have to be big. And tell yourself I will persevere. I will never give up. I will stay steadfast in purpose. And someday I will be at my goal just in time to make a new goal. And so on and so on.
Life goes on and new goals are meet.  Everyday be steadfast in purpose.  Persevere.

Bittersweet Memories

Definition of Bittersweet:  pleasant but tinged with sadness

There are many things in life that are pleasant to think about but then it brings a bit of sadness to you because those people are not with you anymore. You have to learn to hold onto them. Feel the bittersweet. Never forget them.

This is a another great movie that most people forget. Arsenic and Old Lace. It was one of my favorite movies growing up. About 2 Old ladies (Cary Grants Aunts) poisoning men. Just a lot of madcap. You just got to rent it. Cary Grant is one of the best comedians ever! And so tall dark and handsome. Oo La La. What a good looker.

Thoughts

We cannot control the parade of negative thoughts marching through our minds. But we can choose which ones we will give our attention to.  Picture your thoughts as people passing by the front of your home.  Just because they're walking by doesn't mean you have to invite them in.

FLY AWAY

I have been soooo busy lately. I have been working on a lot of different projects all at one time and also working a full time job in my other life. Ahhhhh. I just want to FLY AWAY.   Just get away from everything. I don't mean it in a bad way just need to take some time for myself , away from the husband ( not that I don't love my big German boy) and work.  Be by myself. Oh to fly like a butterfly. Wouldn't it be wonderful. After the day of stresses you could just go up in the sky and FLYYYYYY.

James Stewart - Harvey (1/2)

Today at work I was talking to some people and asked if they had ever seen
"Harvey" with Jimmy Stewart. And no one saw it! I was shocked. If you have not seen this you need to give yourself a treat. I grew up watching old movies. My father had an old projector and we would see all the great old movies. I love them. I think from now on I will post at least one movie a week that you should all look up and watch it. If you like old movies you got to see Harvey. I love all the old black and white movies.
Listen to Jimmy Stewart. What an actor. The best! Like I said give yourself a treat!

My Sister just gave me these pictures last week. OMG!!!! This was me at 14 or should I say before the sh*/+!* hit the fan!  Oh I was soooo innocent then. Where does the time go? Look no makeup! My son in law said I look like one of the Manson Girls. He thinks he's funny. I was a little Motleyish (Is that a word?) But anyway I just thought I would share and get a bit of a laugh!

I Love LuLu

I just had to share some pictures of my dog LuLu . She is a 2 year old Golden doodle. She is the happiest dog I have ever seen. When I got LuLu I remember getting her at the airport and looking in the cage and thinking " What?!?! This is not what I order!" (I know I know I should have gotten a rescue) But of coarse I fell in love with her immediately. She was so sweet. Well now I see she is just what I ordered. She is just the best dog!  She was a little crazy for the first year but that is any puppy. Steve always works real hard at training our dogs. She still has a little problem with taking money out of my purse and chewing it up. (I don't know who taught her that?) she also snatches paper towels out of your lap.  Oh I forgot one she also likes to take bites out of toilet paper.  Walks right up to the roll and ChomP. Very comical dog.

But anyway enough of the gushing over my pooch.

This is a journal page I just completed. I don't know what to say but that it reminds me of a bride. I think I have Marin and Kens Wedding in mind. Their wedding is this coming weekend. Marin is such a sweet soul.  This is the essence of Marin.  The words around her head are all words of wisdom to live the rest of their lives. 

 My art process is funny. I don't really know where or how things come out. But it always shows me where I am at in my life or what event is going to happen and I don't even realize it until it happens. I don't know if that makes sense but I just had an AHA moment.

I have always loved Charlie Chaplin. I read his autobiography when I was 14. One of my old boyfriends gave me a doll of Charlie Chaplin when we broke up. It came in the mail about a month later. Kinda freaky but I love the doll.  Always wondered if he put a spell on it.  I still have that doll it is sitting on my mantal in my library. There is something so pure in his message.
