Love is Patient, Love is Kind

Commission for Stellani Coleman

"Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil, but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails"

When I was making this commission for a wedding gift, It was about the time of the Royal Wedding and finding out about our friends marriage being over.

The emotions are both so different.

The hopefulness and happiness of the one and the despair and the anguish of the other.

Stunning contrast having that timing... This piece seems so tender... perfect composition for the verse.

yes, it's funny, how there can be so much delight in one love's beginnings and sandess in another's end.
This is very beautiful Heather, I LOVE It.

She is beautiful. I especially love her hair band. The verse is so lovely and I am sure it must have been bittersweet with two opposite ends of loves journey.

Life's contrasts - one door opens and another closes. For some, though difficult and sad, making a change works out best for all. I hope that proves to me the case for your friends.

Your painting and its sentiments are an incredibly beautiful gift!! Super job, Heather!

My first thought when I saw your beautiful painting...I want to crop it a bit so I can use it as my profile pic on my anniversary month! :) Seriously...although I'd hate to crop any of this amazing piece of artwork! You capture expressions so well and your attention to detail is admirable and inspiring. Love the butterflies, flowers, the dress, the soft colors...OMG, and those eyes! Love is definitely in the air!!!

I enjoy all your work. Have a beautiful weekend, chica! :)

Your work reminds me a little bit of Aya Uwekawa's; have you heard of her? I like the style of your faces. Nice job!

Such a beauty. I adore your style.
Its the duality of emotions that makes us truly live and feel. Without sadness , we would not appreciate joy. Thats my take on it this Sat evening. take care, gerri

Yes, we commonly are happy over one event and sad and distraught over the other. What if we were simply curious and showed up with all our heart and presence for both...
