Open Your Wings - Trip to Providence and New Paintings

Open Your Wings

Easier said then done sometimes.

Some times I feel a little wobbly(is that a word?)

Like a baby bird that is just learning to fly

It has been a difficult journey. (Of my own doing)

I just have to learn how to OPEN MY WINGS.

And Let Goooooooooooo

Anyway Steve and I went on a trip to Providence RI for a JLC convention that Steve was attending.
What a great trip.  I came along just for the site seeing.
Steve has been to this convention a couple of times and always said he wanted me to come along because he knew I would love the architecture.
So this year since I am on my own (No Corporate Job) I went along.
I just hung out by myself during the day. While everyone else (Nelly,Steve and Mike) went to classes.
It was a blast!
I forgot my camera, as usual and just took some from my i phone.

Steve skipped an afternoon class to go walking with me.
These are just some of the sites

Really Cool Restaurant. Don't quote me but I think it was called 121???

Also I wanted to give a shout out to Sweet Olivia from Craftland
Really Cute Shop I found with all kinds of goodies!
She was so welcoming!
If you ever get to go to Providence tell her that Heather sent you!

Also managed to create some new paintings.

This one is for a Wedding Present

Also a lot more prints will be added to my Etsy shop.
Let me know if you have any questions.
Hope everyone has a great week!
See you soon.

I have sold "Leaning on a Friend" to Michael for his wife Karen's birthday.
I am so happy that this is going to a good home. I will be able to visit whenever I want to.
This is the first painting of mine that was ever published.
It is very special to me.
I could not give it up to just anyone.
Karen is a very special person.

Also sold "My Life Is Full Of Colors" to Jane's daughters for Jane's Birthday.
So happy that this is also going to another Wonderful Loving Home!

I have added some new prints to my Etsy Shop. I am limited until Thursday because I am getting my printer fixed. It will here Thursday!!! Yay!!!!!
Then I can add some new pieces!!

So everyone I hope you come and visit again because there will be a lot more exciting things happening. Some "How to" posts. (And video's a little nervous about that)
See you soon!!!

I am dedicating this post (and song) to my Father In Law who lost his battle with Lung Cancer on
 January 20, 2013
(Click on this link if you would like to give to the Cancer Society. Every little bit helps! Tell them Charley Foust sent you!)

I will do everything in my power to make him proud of me.
Business was everything to him
Stock Market was his hobby
When he visited his clients he would leave packets of flower seeds
He knew every clients names, spouses names, kids names and pets (No kidding)

He loved the beach
He always told me to never trust anyone who doesn't like dogs or flowers
He liked to do the table cloth and the cork out of the bottle trick (Ahhhhh!)
Life of the Party!
He will be greatly missed.

He loved to listen to the ladies sing the blues.

In Spite Of

(New Painting "In spite of ")

In spite of illness, in spite even of the archenemy sorrow,
one can remain alive long past the usual date of disintegration if one is unafraid of change,
insatiable in intellectual curiosity, interested in big things and happy in small ways.

~Edith Wharton~

This is one of my favorite poems. It is so true. This painting is called "In spite of" The painting is kind of a portrait of my Uncle Timmy. He is pretty much a living example of living life.  He has traveled all over the world. Self made successful business man. He knows how to work hard and play hard. He lives his life to the fullest, always has.

Uncle Timmy

Also finished my other painting

She said be gentle and true to yourself

Steve and I celebrated our 25th anniversary at the beach

That is Steve on top of the pole. (And Lulu waiting for him) He still has it in him.
I love this picture of him.
It just shows his personality. Fearless.

The beach was fantastic. It is so wonderful when you feel like you have the beach all to yourself.

I hope everyone has been doing well.

These are a few of my lovely finds at the beach

Forgive me for not being around for awhile.
Life has been a bit up and down right now.
Dealing with a family illness as I said before is not always easy. We just have to learn to enjoy the time that we have with our loved ones.
I have been getting back into my daily routine of meditating.
That always seems to help get through things.
I do recommend it to everyone.
It quiets my crazy mind.

I have to think about the things that I am most grateful for.

See you soon.

Wonderful September Wedding

Hello everyone!!
It has a been a very busy Sept!

I was the photographer for my Nephew Kellen's Wedding

I was so nervous!!
That is a big responsibility!!
Awwwww!!!!!

Cutest Couple Ever!!

Getting Ready!

I just knew I had to get the most important shot!
The kiss!!

And I got it!!! Yeah!!!
This was such a heartfelt wedding.
Not a dry eye in the house.
Tracy and Kellen have been going together for 8 years!
We all love Tracy.
The story is when I first met Tracy(At Nelly's 30th birthday party) I told both my nephews that one of them had to marry this girl!  ( I am pretty sure I yelled it)

Needless to say Tracy was a little embarrassed!

I knew she and Kellen were perfect together!

There is such a sweetness about both of them.

Kellen takes his time.

And we were waiting and waiting and waiting!!!

Finally!!!

Mr. and Mrs. Kellen McElroy

(Not really I just made them walk that way)

Who wouldn't marry this girl!

I really like the way these pictures turned out Tracy's beauty and the crumbling walls.
Such a contrast but so beautiful together
