Rise Above

Sometimes change is hard for me. Although I know that it is necessary if we are to grow. I find myself fighting it. Even though I know it is inevitable. I don’t know why because I know I always get through it. It is exactly where and who I am supposed to be at that time. I will welcome the next change in my life. I am learning. Always learning. Even if it is painful it always seems to come out all right in the end. Therefore……..

I will rise above and live to my fullest potential.

I wanted to speak to the people last week that left comments. I was so overwhelmed with gratitude. It made me cry in a good way. I can not begin to tell you what it meant to me. For the people that spoke about their loved ones with Alzheimers. I am feeling your pain and I am thinking of you. You are strong and you will be ok. It is tough I know. The most important thing is this “ They may not be able to remember you but you remember them” Do not forget them. Keep them close.

Please everyone go and visit the people at Paint Party Friday. I am so sorry for not getting around to enough people last week. I love to see everyone’s creative endeavors. Everyone is so inspiring!

I LOVE your crowned bird and your words about change are so true. I just wish I could realize those words while I'm in the MIDST of big, scary changes...
I read your post about your Mother as well. So beautifully written. I've been lucky to not need those tools but they are so good to know. I think you handled it with beauty and grace, just like you paint.
PPF Hugs,
Stephanie

Wonderful painting, I love all the patterns and palette...sort of reminds me of a William Morris textile.

You have such a wonderful way of putting deep emotions into words.

Lovely painting. Accepting change is hard at first but when you can truly believe that everything is always working out for you, it gets easier and easier to adapt.

Happy PPF!

A message worth holding onto and such a beautiful painting, it lifts my spirit.
Though my Dad lost pieces of himself to the same disease, we held them and him, I cherished each moment we had together. Though he's gone now, his memory is strong.

Heather - You are already amazing, if the "fullest potential" is still coming - Wow! I can only imagine how spectacular it will be :)

p.s. I loved seeing the photos of your mother and reading your heartfelt post below... You are such an inspiration. I am facing some tough times with one of my grandmothers right now, not alzheimers, but I can relate in a lot of ways... Thank you for that post - I really needed to read those words. Big, big hugs to you...

Heather your painting is beautiful! I just saw the photos of your Mom in last week's post, they are so precious. My friend's mom died a year ago with Alzheimers and just last week she also lost her dad. Yes change is so hard to accept. Your beautiful post was so touching and inspiring. Hugs, Deb

Change is not always easy to go through, whether we like change or not. But def harder for those of us who don't like it! ;)

Your mixed media is wonderful and so inspiring! :)
