Think Big!!!!!

Only you know who you are

For so many years I was someone that I thought I was supposed be. Not who I was.

 Not feeling good enough.

Not willing to venture into the unknown.

Feeling that I would be hurt.

Always told not to think to big. "Because you don't want to get your hopes up"
(They had the best intentions)

Whats wrong with getting your hopes up???

So what if you are disappointed???

Sometimes you have to feel uncomfortable to get what you want.

Think about what may happen if you do reach that star or grab that brass ring!!

Think Big!!!!

Dream Big!!!!

Don't ever give up your dreams!!!

They are waiting for you to reach out and grab them.

I am going to hold onto mine!!

Go and visit all my other friends at Paint Party Friday

I wanted to thank all of you for your well wishes.

My surgery went well.  Now I am getting use to scooting around in my knee scooter.
A few close calls.
My grand kids like it and want me to keep it so they can ride down the street. (I don't think sooooo)
They are scooting all over the house.
I just keep on saying "do not leave it in the other room when you leave". I can only imagine them saying goodbye and my scooter is in the library.

Stranded in the Livingroom and no one to help me.... Ahhhh....

But anyway it is nice to be out of my fog.

Thanks again!!!

Oh she's lovely!!! Really love the detail in her face, you make me want to use different papers in my work, I think I'll try that next week! :0) glad to hear that your surgery went well!!! Take care (especially on that scooter!) ;0) xoxo

oh yes, being who you think you are supposed to be is such a drag. I have lots of not-so-lovely self portraits of myself as the person I "should" be and just wasn't.
I have come to fully embrace myself and all my shouldn'ts! And I have so much more fun!
Happy PPF. She really is lovely

She is beautiful and your message is too! So much of our lives are WASTED on being who we think others want us to be instead of listening to our true souls and having the courage to be who we really were meant to be. HAPPY PPF!

Beautiful painting - beautiful words - reminds me of that old ELO song "hold on tight to your dreams". We all need to do that!! You also just brought a snippet of a poem by ? to me - "Hold fast to your dreams for if dreams die life is a broken winged bird that cannot fly'. We all have wings and we all need to fly!! Thanks for such great inspiration!!

It's so hard to dream big, isn't it? There are always reservations in your head wheather you're worth it or you go, that's big enough I'm happy with that. It takes guts to dream big but hopefuly we all get to get to that place where big is not that frightening anymore. So, you go, girl! :) Great piece to depict the topic.

What an uplifting post! I have to say that this is the one good thing that can happen to you when you get older--this attitude.
And your artwork is just so perfect for this!
P.S. Glad everything is going well with your foot.

Beautiful lady, Heather. I am so envious of your ability to paint humans. I can't seem to get the features semi-symmetrical. Yours is perfect. Glad you came by to visit my blog. I have enjoyed seeing your talented works. Best wishes for a quick recovery.

This is exceptional....I love that the depth of her gaze, her piercing focus immediately matches the depth of those words....this entire piece has such tremendously rich detail...it's stunning and your words are like that piercing gaze - they will haunt you till you live OUT LOUD and live those dreams. I'm cartwheeling with joy for this work..and I'm so happy to hear your surgery went well. Take care o' you and that scootin' scooter!

You are so correct in your philosophy - my mom was always like-telling me at school it didn't matter if I didn't get anywhere because I'd only end up having kids any way - I'm 39 and can't have kids! How wrong was she - bless her! She only passed on what she'd been taught.

I do love you work - it has quite an individual look about it. The texture/colours and curve of the faces. Beautiful.

Love it if you would link up at my creative weekend blog hop between friday and sunday every week. Heres the link for this weeks - http://wordsinsync.blogspot.com/2011/07/weekend-creation-blog-hop-guest-post-by_29.html

Hop along if your fancy it.

Oh Heather your painting is soooooooo beautiful!!!I just want to hug her, and you too for your uplifting words, they are SO TRUE!!!! Its funny how all us artist types ( and probably everyone as well) can relate to these thoughts. I think as we get older we start to shed some of that insecurity but I find myself still making some of the same ole mistakes when that fear sets in. Then I hop around on the blogs and find all my friends sharing in the adventure of LIFE and it makes me cry with DELIGHT!!!!Oh how I love it here on this earth, yahooooooooo!!! So glad you are recovering and getting around nicely on that new hot rod that the grand kids love!!!Deb

Being who you are is very tough, especially if one doesn't fit into the "norm". I can say that one from experience. Thank you for bringing this to light. I am so glad to hear you are on the mend. I LOVE your "Only you know who you are" piece. The colors are very soothing and the look on her face is wonderful! Have a great rest of your weekend Heather. And thanks for your kind comments on my blog. Happy PPF!~ :-)

very beautiful entry Heather. Often times, other people will tell us to be contented to where we are.. some always protect us and not allowing us to try things which are difficult. How else can we learn without all the challenges in life if not to brush the fear and try it? Very well said indeed. Thanks for this reminder.. aim for our dreams! Beautiful painting! Thank God you are okay.. God won't leave you:)
